I love art and the process of creating art. To quote Twyla Tharp, “Art is the only way to run away without leaving home…” I can lose all sense of time and space while creating a new piece of art. I love exploring color, light and shapes and creating visual sensations with color relationships and atmosphere. I enjoy taking an abstract idea I have and making it come to life and express what I feel about a particular subject in a variety of mediums including oil and pastel.
I have a weakness for painting landscapes / streetscapes, especially the area where we live. I never tire of trying to create my feelings for the natural beauty and atmosphere I see in the setting I am painting. And every now and then, I love to experiment with abstraction and collage. It is good to break away from what you are familiar with and explore doing something totally different.
I presently hold membership in the Rehoboth Art League, the Art League of Ocean City, Oil Painters of America and Delaware by Hand. I have won awards in many local shows, as well as at the Biggs Museum in Dover, DE. Her art is appreciated by many private collectors on the East Coast.
