Laura Hickman is a native of Bethany Beach, studied Art at Hood College, received her MFA in Printmaking  from the University of Delaware, and continued in academia for several years, teaching at the University of Maryland and Savannah College of Art and Design, before returning to Bethany to fulfill her dream of creating art.

She has exhibited widely on the East Coast and also in Germany.  Her works are in private and corporate collections, including that of Vice- President Biden and Senator Tom Carper in Washington, D.C.. She has been featured in American Artist, Delaware Today, Delaware Beach Life, Metropolitan Magazine and has the Presidential Award for Outstanding Achievement from the University of Delaware, the Arts and Humanities Award from Delaware Technical and Community College.
