My work has evolved over time, from transparent watercolors to mixed media, collage and acrylics. I paint in a vibrant expressive yet somewhat representational manner. My favorite subjects are landscapes, abstracts and florals. Living on the shore, my paintings will quite often contain boats, water, marshes and beaches. I love a good sunset, and find myself continually wanting to express them. I also travel to the tropics often, and enjoy depicting the local scenes.
My artwork is noted for its color and use of texture.
I enjoy “negative painting” which is painting the space around an object, rather than the object itself. I also enjoy layering a painting with hand painted papers to bring out the texture, or adding ink to define a subject.
